As a Certified Lymphatic Therapist, I use Manual Lymphatic Drainage to reduce swelling associated with Edema, Lymphedema, and Inflammation. Some of the many conditions that benefit from lymphatic massage include Lymphedema, Fibromyalgia, Pre & Post Surgery, Arthritis, Prenatal & Postnatal swelling, PCOS, Whiplash, Asthma, Venous Edema, Lipedema.
In some instances adding the Hivamat 200 to the manual session gives an extra boost to the lymphatic drainage. This can be discussed during your appointment. Note: In Europe this is called Deep Oscillation Therapy and is used broadly.
Lymphatic Therapy is the primary focus of my practice. I complement this with other forms of bodywork described below, which are used to address other physical symptoms.
Through assessment and gentle treatments, this structural modality creates higher levels of organization throughout the body, reducing pain and increasing ease of movement. This technique addresses all the tissues of the body, including the organs, nerves, vessels, fascia.
While holding and listening to the body, the cranialsacral "tides" come into harmony, unwinding restrictions as the body returns to wholeness. The client may experience subtle shifts very profoundly during the session, or the changes may be become apparent after the session.
MLD is very helpful post liposuction. I see people with Lipedema post Liposuction (WAL), which can be an important part of the treatment for Lipedema. For all other Elective Liposuction and Elective Cosmetic Surgery I am currently referring to a wonderful Lymphatic Therapist, Rochelle Clark.
